A Little Blue House
I still gush over the houses I've had the pleasure of painting over the past few years. Painting hundreds of homes has made me think a lot about what I want my own house to look like, and I think I've come to the conclusion that blue houses are among the most charming. But it's also made me see how much of a difference a bit of plant life can make to the overall curb appeal. I imagine this couple inside, sitting in their living room together and reading magazines with the windows open, the sweet scent of flowers in bloom filling their home. I'm sure they would have ice cold glasses of lemonade in their hands too.
Which reminds me, I've been thinking a lot lately about work and how obsessed (it's true) I am with painting. Sometimes I find it challenging to stop working long enough to sit and enjoy life!
From my studio windows I can see this beautiful wooden porch swing Seth made for Christmas a few years ago when we were dating. It's incredible. I feel his love when I look at it. Sometimes I take Josie out there and set her on my lap, and we gently rock back and forth. She loves to watch Sarge (our miniature doxin) run around the yard and chase squirrels.
I need to do more things like that this summer. Note to self: take time every day to sit with the ones I love most and just enjoy their company. It's just the best thing I can imagine doing, and I hope you feel the same!
