cute, non-cheesy Valentine's Day cards

I'm back today not to share a watercolor tutorial, but to share another bit of good news. (The tutorials will be back up and running next week, but I was out sick at the beginning of this week and missed quite a few days of work. So, I'm playing catch-up and will share my super fun tutuorial with you next Thursday.)

Today, I want to show you a brand new collection of goodies I've been dying to talk about! I've just released 14 new Valentine's Day cards, two new mug designs, and a spanking new Semi-Custom Print to the shop!

I'm so excited!

Here's a sampling of a few of my favorite things: Flirty Dogs mug, Lazy Wiener Dog mug, Semi-Custom Print, and so much more!

Here's how the Semi-Custom Print works. Once you make the purchase in my shop, shoot me an email with the names and anniversary date of the couple to be featured on the print. (Michelle@TheArtofMichelle.com) If you'd rather turn it into a nursery print like this...

I would need to know the child's name and date of birth. Next, I'll email you a proof of the final design, and, with your approval, print it in my studio and ship it out as early as the next day!

To shop this new collection of Valentine's Day goodies, hover your mouse over the "shop" tab at the top of this webpage and select "greeting cards" or "gifts".

Keep a look out for new designs coming throughout the year! I can't wait!

I've just updated my shop to include two new custom notecard options. You can now turn your Custom House or Pet Portraits into a fun stationery set to send to all your loved ones!

I'm printing all of my cards and prints from the studio now. I've had countless issues over the years with external printers and, in all honesty, probably wasted a good deal of time and money and have never really been fully satisfied with the results. I'd order the cards, wait a week, and excitedly open the package from the printer to find errors and misprints on nearly every card- finger prints, ink spots, creases where there shouldn't be creases, etc.

I was ready to give up printing cards altogether. I was so discouraged!

Finally one night I told Seth all about my troubles and disgust with my printing place and how it was a constant source of frustration for me, and he asked, "What would it cost to just buy your own printer?"

We stayed up late that night discussing the pros and cons of making that kind of investment in my business. I wondered if I'd even enjoy printing my own things or if it, too, would become a nuisance.

The good news is that we made the decision together, and I bought a fancy new printer on Amazon the next day. I've been able to track down the nicest ink and prettiest papers for all my stationery needs. The quality of my prints and cards has gone up exponentially since I started printing everything myself.  I'm able to print on-demand instead of over-buying product and the turn around time is days instead of weeks.

But the most surprising benefit of having my own printer is the feeling of freedom it gives me to design and test print anything I want. For that reason I'm excited to announce the launch of a new line of cards coming out in Spring 2016!

I'll share more about that soon, but for now, please enjoy 10% off your custom notecard order using the code NEWYEAR at checkout. The discount is good until Friday at midnight.
